Our in vitro investigation indicates that CDK1 modulates the ∆Np63α-mediated inhibition of EMT in basal HNSCC cells, UM1 and Cal27: CDK1 overexpression upregulates (Figure 5D), while the ablation of CDK1 downregulates (Figure 5H), mesenchymal markers N-Cadherin and vimentin; ∆Np63α-induced downregulation of mesenchymal markers (N-Cadherin and vimentin), as well as upregulation of epithelial markers (BPAG1 and ITGA6), are impaired by CDK1 (Figure 6D). Here, CDK1 is linked to head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
