Our in vitro investigation indicates that CDK1 modulates the ∆Np63α-mediated inhibition of EMT in basal HNSCC cells, UM1 and Cal27: CDK1 overexpression upregulates (Figure 5D), while the ablation of CDK1 downregulates (Figure 5H), mesenchymal markers N-Cadherin and vimentin; ∆Np63α-induced downregulation of mesenchymal markers (N-Cadherin and vimentin), as well as upregulation of epithelial markers (BPAG1 and ITGA6), are impaired by CDK1 (Figure 6D). This evidence concerns the gene VIM and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
