It has been found that effector protein SopE2 of S. Typhimurium enhances the production of iNOS and nitrate in a colitis model, and SopE2 is one of the main factors responsible for the activation of NF-κB pathways during Salmonella infection, in addition to other effector proteins and bacterial LPS [9]. This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and Salmonella Infections.
