Laniewski et al. evaluate the expression of specific mediators of the immune system in cervico-vaginal washings; the authors report that pro-inflammatory and chemotactic cytokines such as IL-36γ, TNFα, RANTES, MIP-1α, MIP-1β, RANTES, and IP-10; hematopoietic cytokines, as well as Flt-3L and GM-CSF; cytokines of adaptive immunity such as IL-2, IL-4, and sCD40L; and an anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10, are significantly expressed in ICC. This evidence concerns the gene CCL5 and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma.
