Among the different phenotypic variants encompassing this disease, Pemphigus vulgaris (PV) and Pemphigus foliaceus (PF), caused by the presence of autoantibodies against the desmosomal cadherins desmoglein 3 (DSG3) and 1 (DSG1), are the most common forms [1,2,3].
