The leukemia/lymphoma-related (LRF/ZBTB7A) transcription factor has been characterized as a critical key regulator of HbF in erythroid cells, acting independently from the main repressor, BCL11A (B Cell CLL/Lymphoma 11A) [7,13,14], and exerting its repressive activity through recruitment of the NuRD (Nucleosome Remodeling) complex. Here, ZBTB7A is linked to B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
