PDGFRA and RUNX2 were validated as direct targets of miR-218-5p: PDGFRA in T98G cells (glioblastoma multiforme) [36] and RUNX2 in HEK293T cells (human embryonic kidney) [37], in the K-1 and TPC-1 cells lines (papillary thyroid cancer) [32], in SKOV3 cells (ovarian cancer) [38], in ARPE-19 cells (retinal pigment epithelium) [39], and in the A549 cell line (lung adenocarcinoma) [40].
