Additionally, 4′,Polydatin (3,4′,5-trihydroxystilbene-3-β-D glucoside), a natural resveratrol glucoside extracted from Polygonum cuspidatum, exhibits pharmacological effects against degenerative motor function by protecting dopaminergic neurons in the rat substantia nigra [178]; here polydatin decreased microglial activation through stimulating the AKT/GSK3β-Nrf2 signaling axis to ameliorate lipopolysaccharide-mediated experimental PD [179] indicative of an anti-inflammatory action for polydatin.
