WNT1 and cancer: EMT has also been increasingly described in tumor metastasis and invasion, especially EMT-related transcription factors (EMT-TFs) that regulate cancer development and progression, including the conventional Snail1, Slug, ZEB1/2, Twist, and other unconventional ones, such as Wnt family member 1 (WNT1)/β-catenin, transcription factor pairing-related homeobox 1 (Prrx1), MYC proto-oncogene (c-Myc), and thyroid transcription factor 1 (TTF1) [10,11,12,13,14].
