MMP-13 overexpression in cancer was first reported in breast cancer [12] and has subsequently been observed in many other cancers, such as colorectal [67,68], prostate [69], oesophageal [70,71], thyroid [72] and gastric cancers [73], as well as multiple myeloma (MM) [74] (Table 1).
