TIMP3 and neoplasm: It has been suggested that reversion-inducing cysteine-rich protein with kazal motifs (RECK), a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored membrane-bound regulator of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) as well as tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-3 (TIMP3), are both unlikely candidates to act as tumor suppressors during carcinogenic processes.
