NFKB1 and congenital non-bullous ichthyosiform erythroderma: A study analyzing transcription nuclear factor (NF-κB) activation during mucosal inflammation in situ in dogs with CIE, identified significantly more macrophages/mm2 with increased activity of the NF-κB pathway in the lamina propria [78], suggesting a role of NF-κB and derived pro-inflammatory cytokines in CIE.
