Conclusions: Our data advance hypersecretion of IL-6 in HIV patients with TB-infection, as well as hypersecretion of IL-6 and IL-8, with an aggravated course of HIV/TB co-infection with severe lung damage, analogous to their role in lung lesions in the acute stage of SARS-CoV-2 [10], and in morbidity and mortality from lung cancer [11]. This evidence concerns the gene CXCL8 and coinfection.
