NLRP3 and cancer: Hyperglycemia by impairing glucose metabolism is an emerging risk factor for cancer and cardiovascular disease. Hyperglycemia reduces ipilimumab-related anticancer functions and enhances its cardiotoxicity through mechanisms mediated by MyD88 and NLRP3 signaling7, suggesting that targeting the MyD88/NLRP3 signaling may be beneficial in patients with cancer and cardiovascular diseases in response to ipilimumab-induced anticancer effects and cardiotoxicity.
