Concentrations of interleukin 8 (IL-8) and monocyte chemoattractant protein 1 (also known as CC motif chemokine ligand 2) are significantly higher in dogs with diabetes, whereas dogs with ketoacidosis have increased concentrations of keratinocyte chemoattractant, IL-18 and granulocyte-monocyte colony-stimulating factor [41].
