In some reports, CXCL8 (IL8) has been shown to be important for TB control (O’Kane et al., 2007; Krupa et al., 2015; Larsen et al., 1995), but is also found to be upregulated in granulomas containing excessive neutrophils (Bergeron et al., 1997; Hashemian et al., 2014). This evidence concerns the gene CXCL8 and tuberculosis.
