In line with this idea, we found several genes with a known regulatory role in liver fibrosis (Sema7a, Cdh11)23–25 and NAFLD development (Adam28, Lgals3, Cxcl10)26–29 among MAFK- and TCF4-sensitive genes that are also regulated in human NASH. Here, CXCL10 is linked to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
