IL-5, IL-13, and ovalbumin (OVA) specific IgE and airway hyperresponsiveness (AHR) are also responsible for mitochondrial dysfunction (Mabalirajan et al. 2009) and thus conclude that Th2-dominant response enhances mitochondrial oxidative stress in airways (Mabalirajan et al. 2008).
