The pathophysiology of cardiac manifestations and arrhythmias in COVID-19 is uncertain, but the mechanisms explaining the pathogenesis are direct viral myocardial damage, hypotension, and angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptor downregulation, increased inflammatory state, increased endogenous catecholamine and adrenergic status, and electrolyte abnormalities [18]. Here, ACE2 is linked to cardiac arrhythmia.
