As shown in Supplementary Figure 6, miRNAs may regulate gene mRNA levels by targeting TP63, CASP3, CASP6, CASP8, and CHMP7. In particular, IRF2 could be down-regulated by more miRNAs, including hsa-miR-133b, hsa-miR-498, hsa-miR-495-3p, hsa-miR-496, hsa-miR-3163, etc. In contrast, hsa-miR-383-5p and hsa-miR-183-5p could negatively regulate the expression of IRF1. These results suggest that gene expression may be regulated by miRNAs and may influence cancer progression. This evidence concerns the gene CHMP7 and cancer.
