Similarly, after adjusting for all confounders, participants in the lowest level of Klotho were significantly associated with an increased incidence of CHF (OR = 1.46, 95% CI: 1.09–1.97, p = 0.011) and MI (OR = 1.33, 95% CI: 1.02–1.74, p = 0.037), but it was not the case for CHD (OR = 1.12, 95% CI: 0.91–1.38, p = 0.279) or stroke (OR = 0.96, 95% CI: 0.73–1.25, p = 0.744). This evidence concerns the gene KL and congestive heart failure.
