In 2011, we developed photoimmunotherapy, a novel anticancer therapy11 that uses a photoplastic phthalocyanine-derivative IRDye700DX (IR700) conjugated with monoclonal antibodies (mAb) targeting cancer cell membrane antigens, mAb panitumumab targeting human epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and mAb trastuzumab12 targeting EGFR2 (HER2). This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and cancer.
