Multivariate analysis using Cox regression found that death was associated with older age (HR=1.0519, 95% CI 1.0264-1.078, p=0.0001); higher albumin levels at the start of therapy were a protective factor (HR=0.6692, 95% CI 0.5013-0.8934, p=0.0064); and diabetes was associated with the development of peritonitis (HR=2.016 95% CI 1.2505-3.2504, p=0.004), as shown in Table 5. This evidence concerns the gene ALB and peritonitis.
