CD40LG and infection: One study with 79 Lyme disease patients reported that 10 to 20 years after infection, IgM antibodies still persisted in 10% of the patients with early Lyme disease and 15% of the patients with Lyme arthritis, whereas 25% of the patients with early Lyme disease and 62% of the patients with Lyme arthritis still had IgG antibodies [31]. The most recent serosurvey for B. burgdorferi antibodies in Germany was conducted in the study population of the German Health Interview and Examination Survey for Adults (DEGS) from 2008 to 2011 [30, 32].
