Except for elevated D-dimer and fibrin degradation products, patients with active cancer may have higher levels of C-reactive protein (CRP) and lower levels of cholesterol and Hb.11,76, –78 Lee et al.76 demonstrated that stroke patients without active cancer had a median CRP concentration of 5 mg/l at admission compared with 9 mg/l in patients with active cancer (p < 0.001). Here, CRP is linked to Stroke.
