Viral infection will cause excessive activation of immune cells, such as macrophages and neutrophils, migrating into the lung tissue (Nicholls et al., 2003; Channappanavar et al., 2016) and producing large amounts of inflammatory factors, such as tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), interleukin (IL)-1, and IL-6 (Li H. et al., 2020; Jose and Manuel, 2020), which is known as cytokine storm (Huang et al., 2020).
