Historically, the mouse strains BALB/cJ and 129/SvJ have been deemed to be highly susceptible and C57BL/6 to be resistant to ADR-induced nephrosis, attributed to the Prmt7 (protein arginine methyltransferase 7) and Prkdc (protein kinase, DNA-activated, catalytic polypeptide) gene defects conferring susceptibility to ADR (Zheng et al., 2005; Zheng et al., 2006; Papeta et al., 2010). This evidence concerns the gene PRKDC and nephrosis.
