Consistent with previous studies showing the dynamic changes in CSF sTREM2 in AD, we found that elevated CSF sTREM2 was associated with tau pathology even in the absence of Aβ pathology, whereas decreased CSF sTREM2 was associated with Aβ pathology in patients with PD (Suárez-Calvet et al., 2019; Ma et al., 2020). The gene discussed is MAPT; the disease is Parkinson disease.
