By double immunofluorescence on day 4 post-stroke, the amount of MBP (myelin basic protein) and CD68 double-positive cells was increased in the external capsule of AAV7-MANF-treated rats compared to the AAV7-GFP control group, indicating enhanced phagocytosis of myelin debris after AAV7-MANF treatment. This evidence concerns the gene CD68 and stroke disorder.
