Furthermore, HPV infection highly depends on cell proliferation and differentiation; a previous study indicated that the cGMP/PKG pathway plays a key role in the malignant phenotype of cervical cancer cells (Gong et al., 2019), and our data are also in agreement with the role of the cGMP/PKG pathway in the development of cervical cancer. The gene discussed is PRKG1; the disease is cervical carcinoma.
