HLA-C and Autoimmunity: Weak binding peptides have been reported to be less immunodominant than strong MHC-binding peptides (Burger et al., 2021; Lazarski et al., 2005; Wu et al., 2019); however, there are also examples of weak MHC-binding peptides which can elicit T cell responses and be of clinical relevance in disease contexts, including in autoimmunity and cancer (Latek et al., 2000; Levisetti et al., 2008; Valmori et al., 1998; Zarour et al., 2000).
