Whereas the mean age at diagnosis of breast cancer in BRCA1/2 carriers and non‐carriers was similar in the present study, the age at diagnosis of breast cancer in BRCA1 carriers was lower than that of BRCA2 carriers (39.8 vs. 46.2 years), consistent with previous studies showing the age at diagnosis of breast cancer in BRCA1 and BRCA2 carriers ranging between 30 and 45 years.7, 37. Here, BRCA1 is linked to breast carcinoma.
