Although FGF1-dependent cell cycle regulation has not previously been associated with drug resistance, FGF1 has previously been shown to induce an ATM-dependent G2 arrest in RCS chondrocytes [60], and G2 arrest has previously been associated with cisplatin resistance in ovarian cell lines [61] and in other in cancer cell lines including lung adenocarcinoma [62] and gastric cancer [63]. Here, FGF1 is linked to lung adenocarcinoma.
