This negative prognostic impact of high ALYREF expression levels prevailed after adjustment for other well-known prognostic factors, including age, tumor stage, primary tumor size, grading, immunohistochemical subtype (estrogen, HER2 and progesterone receptor status) and Ki-67 proliferation index, using a multivariate Cox proportional model (Table S2) (hazard ratio (HR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) for disease-free survival: 2.72 (1.18–6.27), p = 0.0015, for overall survival: 3.2 (1.25–8.24), p = 0.018, respectively). This evidence concerns the gene MKI67 and neoplasm.
