Consistent with this study, Rindler et al. found that melanocytes upregulated T cell reactivity inhibitor dickkopf-related protein 3 (DKK3) (48), TGF-β signaling promotor CD81 (49), and platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase (PLA2G7), which catalyzed the degradation of the strongly pro-inflammatory phospholipid mediator platelet-activating factor (PAF) (11, 50) in spontaneously healed AD (11). The gene discussed is PLA2G7; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
