Using reverse-transcriptionpolymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), some authors (Freudenberget al., 2015) demonstrated that protein expression ofNOS1 is constitutively high in ovarian cancer cell lines andthat mRNA expression of NOS1 varies among such cell lines. The results of that study mean that NOS1 promotes malignantcharacteristics of ovarian cancer cells, including proliferation, invasion, and chemoresistance, thereby constituting a potentialtherapeutic target. This evidence concerns the gene NOS1 and ovarian carcinoma.
