Rare mutations in PCSK1 are known to cause monogenic obesity—here, a relatively symmetric pattern of increased GFAT, VAT (beta = 0.87; p = 4.1 × 10−4), and ASAT (beta = 1.04; p = 3.1 × 10−5) were observed in sex-combined analyses (Supplementary Data 16)66,67.
