Three SNPs were shared between FIadjBMI and PCOS (rs745379, rs3813583 and rs4135247), among which the most significant (sentinel SNP: rs745379, pCPASSOC=1.49×10–9) was located near GATA4, a PCOS-associated gene [12] that also plays an essential role in pancreatic development [26]. Here, GATA4 is linked to polycystic ovary syndrome.
