CDK2 and cancer: In a recent report (Zheng et al., 2020), CALR knockdown in a cancer cell line NKTCL significantly reduced the cell proliferation rate, inhibited G1-to-S phase transition by increasing the expression level of p27, the cell cycle inhibitor, and decreasing the levels of cyclin E2 (CCNE2) and cyclin-dependent kinase 2 (CDK2).
