Twelve of these genes were not reported in the original GWAS paper and, hence, are important newly reported generalized epilepsy candidate genes: AP3D1, CAMTA1, DOC2A, GRM4, MMP27, PHACTR1, RAPGEF2, RBFOX1, RIMS1, SETD1A, STX1B, UBTF. The gene discussed is RAPGEF2; the disease is idiopathic generalized epilepsy.
