MET and brain neoplasm: In pediatric brain tumors, kinome profiling by peptide array confirmed previously reported signaling pathway activity in Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR or ERBB1), Hepatocyte growth factor receptor (c-MET) and Vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR), associated these tumors with highly active Proto-oncogene tyrosine-protein kinase (Src) family kinases and demonstrated corresponding treatment responses to Src kinase inhibitors (Sikkema et al. 2009), showing the applicability of this technique to identify potential therapeutic targets.
