CYP2E1, an isozyme of the drug-metabolizing enzyme cytochrome P450 (CYP), mostly oxidizes volatile hydrocarbons such as TCE (Nakajima 1997) and can be an antigen to produce anti-CYP2E1 autoantibodies that cause hepatitis (Sutti et al. 2014). Here, CYP2E1 is linked to Hepatitis.
