Genetic variations in the HLA‐G gene, including 14‐bp insertion/deletion (I/D; rs371194629) and +3142 C/G (rs1063320), showed significant association with cervical cancer risk19 and have been linked to the soluble HLA‐G (sHLA‐G) levels20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and HLA‐G messenger RNA (mRNA) regulation.22, 23, 25. The gene discussed is HLA-G; the disease is cervical cancer.
