p53 promotes dipeptidylpeptidase-4 (DPP4) translocation into the tumor cell nucleus in a transcription-independent manner, forming a p53-DPP4 complex, and thus negatively regulates the ferroptosis of colorectal cancer cells by inhibiting the association of DPP4 and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate oxidase 1 (NOX1) (32).
