Various clinical parameters are used to predict the prognosis of non-HIV-infected patients with PJP, including older age, female sex, respiratory failure, high lactate dehydrogenase (LD) and C-reactive protein (CRP) levels, low albumin level, lymphopenia, other co-infections, pneumothorax, and mechanical ventilation [6, 7, 9].
