This is consistent with our previous findings that nal‐IRI alone can promote the aggressiveness of MIA PaCa‐2 PDAC tumors by enriching CD44 cancer stem‐like cell subpopulations, an effect that is reversed by PDP.[17] However, 19.2 mg kg−1 irinotecan encapsulated within TPMIL constructs delivering with a PDT dose product of 50 mg kg−1 × J cm−2 inhibited tumor growth by 93% with respect to the same dose of nal‐IRI alone (Figure 3a).
