MKP-2, also known as dual-specificity phosphatase 4 (DUSP4), is an inducible phosphatase known to be upregulated in response to growth factors, hormones, and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) [21] The understanding of MKP-2 function has resulted in the discovery of novel roles for MKP-2 in the regulation of sepsis, infection, and cell-cycle progression that are distinct from those of other MKPs [22,23,24,25]. This evidence concerns the gene DUSP4 and Sepsis.
