Gene ontology analysis indicated the enrichment of several genes involved in mucosal barrier function and/or cancer—for example, translocation-associated membrane protein 1 (TRAM1), interleukin 18 (IL-18), homeobox A10 (HOXA10), hes family bHLH transcription factor 1 (HES1), ATP binding cassette subfamily A member 5 (ABCA5), ASXL transcriptional regulator 2 (ASXL2), cAMP responsive element binding protein 3 like 3 (CREB3L3), eukaryotic translation initiation factor 5 (EIF5), iron responsive element binding protein 2 (IREB2) and nuclear receptor coactivator 2 (NCOA2). This evidence concerns the gene TRAM1 and cancer.
