VEGFA and Acute bronchitis: Conversely, a malaria study demonstrated that patients with severe disease had significantly lower levels of VEGF compared with patients who had a mild form of the disease [108], as well as a tuberculosis (TB) study that found that patients with active TB had statistically lower VEGF levels than patients with latent TB, and patients with acute bronchitis had lower VEGF levels than the healthy control group [109,110].
