Salim et al. [140] conducted a study on the impact of ipragliflozin on endothelial cells in diabetic mice and demonstrated its active role in preventing endothelial dysfunction by decreasing the expression of reactive oxygen species or pro-inflammatory molecules such as monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1), vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1) and intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1). The gene discussed is CCL2; the disease is endothelial dysfunction.
