Except for the lower concentrations of IFN-α2 (22 pg/mL, IQR 14–37 vs. 41 pg/mL, IQR 25–62, p = 0.046) and IFN-γ (124 pg/mL, IQR 52–274 vs. 354 pg/mL, IQR 199–597, p = 0.025) in patients with NAFLD and obesity, there were no differences in other cytokine concentrations. Here, IFNA2 is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
